Fidelity program, my first sewing machine, and one day in Paris

Somehow, my 5 AM Club got rescheduled for 1:30 AM tonight, which was not necessarily in the plan because I have an intense and long day in Paris ahead. But we do what we have to do.

My sleeping patterns are like my drawing styles. Wildly out of my control.

Since I am very efficient at night, I’ve already done all the work for the day for my lovely regular job, and it’s not even 3 AM at that point.

You see why I am doing Camambert?

I am often genuinely bored.

I’ve been looking for some fun for a while, but it’s always either running out or running away.

So I decided that the only way to live well would be to become my engine of fun.

It will work on sun and hopes, and I hope it will make some people laugh on the way.

That’s it.

That’s the concept.

However, in order to turn Camabert from a purely delirium project into something livable and sustainable, I need to have a real plan. What do I do, where do I go, and how do I achieve what?

I am honestly a bit out of ideas because I have my art, I have my energy, I have an idea, but now it’s facing an obstacle: a lack of commercial knowledge. But guess what?
They’ve been saying for decades that “there is plenty of free information on the Internet!”
Well, let’s check that :D

During this path, you will see a lot of free tools and free hacks. Because I don’t have any money and I really want to make my idea real.

So I guess I will have to use what I can!

And that’s incredibly a lot!

But I am a bit lost about where to start. Or rather, where to continue.

My point of work at the moment is production. Literal manufacturing of clothing and its fabrics. The core of the business, basically.

And as I am aiming for high quality, I have to look particularly carefully for the suppliers.

I learn so many things about textiles.

Because I am not a designer. I am an artist. I don’t know how to put it on the clothing. I just want my drawings to walk on the street.

But I will figure everything out!

As today is already a charged day, I am not expecting a lot of attention from myself in the domain of my Project today. Let’s be realistic and, most importantly, let’s be human. I have a very human mission for today.

So, to still do at least something, I literally asked ChatGPT:

“Started my Shopify store Name me 100 things that I can do right now to make it cool, to make it more easily marketable, to be more smooth for customer experience, to increase my conversion and revenue, etc
Let's gooooo!”

Yes, I hype up my ChatGPT. Why don’t you?

I will move step by step and perform the relevant steps.

I still have plenty of hours before the world wakes up, and I don’t see a reason why not.

I cannot create Best Sellers and New Arrivals collections because I do not have any products yet, lol.
But what I can already do is to write ridiculous washing instructions for my clothing.

Yes, I am doing everything in the non-conventional order, but you know what, the main point is to keep moving.

04:00

Oooooooh. I just realized that before breaking my head over finding the right fabrics and manufacturer, I can and should already start by creating a system of collections and separating my drawings, so → future products, into collections and overall meaningful blocks.

Also, I remembered the software named Miro. I will check if they have a free version and I will use it. As far as I remember, it is a very convenient tool for mind-mapping. And that’s exactly how I am going to connect my drawings into collections. Like the detective from that meme.

I’ve done something and then suddenly forgotten right away what I was just doing.
That’s an indication that my cognitive block of attention and efficiency is over, and it’s time to take a break. Even better. It’s time to…

Open my first sewing machine!

Yes!

Ahahahah yes, it’s the one for kids, and I bought it yesterday in our local thrift store. And so?!

Happy as an elephant!

It’s my very first sewing machine. I wanted to have one since I was 8. But this activity was never encouraged, so I had to go the academic way. And here we are again! Youpiiii!

05:10

The machine is wonderful.

It is so cute, I am speechless.

And also, it works with batteries, so it’s perfect. And it comes with the pedal. It’s a real sewing machine.

There are also two doll-sized mannequins de couture that come in the box and, hopefully, a very detailed manual. Because I tested it, it works; it works very well. But I have no idea how. And I am going to find it out!

I decided not to try to conquer this skill now, and I have enough important and responsible preoccupations for today, but in the evening, when I get back from Paris, I will have the first look. I will set the first thing, whatever it is. I will make the first step. The next step, at this point.

Today I will have a lot of time on the trains and the metro, so I need to come up with an activity to fill this time.

I don’t like wasting time.

Especially now, when every moment lived can be spent on something that excites me and something that I create from nothing.

I love creation.

And Je m’appelle Camambert didn’t exist until I created it.

And it’s an incredible feeling.

What can I do for my business while using public transportation, so no access to a laptop, calls, and, preferably, no audio or video content consumption?
I can read, I can write.
I can’t draw.
Or can I?

The Sketches of the Parisian Metro

Could be a collection of drawings, huh

In addition, I have the sketchbook called “Paris Mon cheri”.

That could be a whole book, actually.

I could not only make sketches and draw, but also write notes, reflections, and make it a multidimensional piece of art. I can then also add some cuts from the business cards, labels, and paper ads that I encounter in Paris during the day, and then make it into a collage.

And while the version-to-distribute will be a digital one, so scanned, the Original Version can be pretty tactile, and then you can go very far in experience.

I have so many ideas now.

Yes, that’s a good plan.

Now, let’s think of some other ideas for when you are standing in the transport or when there is simply no inspirational energy.
What else can I do?

12:03

So, I am in the train to Paris.

The next 6 hours will be quite intense, and I won’t be able to dedicate much time to working on my Project or my regular job at all. And honestly, I feel more creative now than when restructuring the foundations of something. And that’s perfectly fine. I am an artist in the beginning and in the end of all, remember.

Both creatively and foundation-wise, a fidelity program is very important. I will think right now of funny ways to encourage people to stay longer in the Game.
It’s not about buying or selling at this point.
It’s all about priceless human interaction. Wondering.
